Non-profit initiative aims to release job potential among refugees in Denmark

Through interviews with companies, asylum centres and interest groups, QVARTZ has developed 22 recommendations on how to realise job potential among refugees in Denmark.

QVARTZ’ engagement in the project was inspired by a video posted by Scandinavian think tank Mandag Morgen, addressing the challenge of how to help refugees enter the job market. The objective of the initiative is to realise the potential of refugees coming to Denmark by matching their personal competences with the needs of both the public sector and private companies in an effort to help integrate them into Danish society. According to Flemming Pedersen at QVARTZ, the intention behind the 22 recommendations, which include both political and practical levers, is not to make current processes more complicated. Instead, the recommendations are suggestions on how to rethink processes, remove barriers and make systems more resilient and efficient for all parties involved in the asylum process.
