Denmark’s largest welcome party for refugees attracted a large number of refugees and volunteers to Forum in Copenhagen this Saturday. A main objective of the day was to get more refugees into the Danish labour market – which benefits Denmark, the companies and the individual refugees.
QVARTZ consultant Anne Lund was one of the organising forces behind the Job Zone, where refugees met people from among others Microsoft, NCC, Egmont, Falck and QVARTZ to discuss qualifications, motivation and employment possibilities. The initiative is featured in recent articles in Danish newspapers Politiken and Berlingske, where Anne Lund explains what she sees as the key element of the Welcome Party: “The most important thing about this day is to get groups of people who may not interact with each other on a daily basis to meet each other”. QVARTZ Managing Partner Hans Henrik Beck is enthusiastic about the initiative: “The Welcome Party and the Job Zone are really great ways to get the ball rolling, and we are proud to be able to contribute. It is important that we join forces to welcome the newcomers to Denmark and make use of people’s competences. This benefits all of us, both in the long run and in a shorter term.” A big thank you to all who made Saturday a day to remember.
