On the Democratic Convention this summer, a Big Person, Michelle Obama, said “When they go low, we go high” – an iconic and uplifting statement. On Saturday, a lot of Big People and Big Companies join forces to host Velkomstfesten (the Welcome Party) at Forum in Copenhagen, for the many refugees who have come to Denmark recently.
At QVARTZ, we are convinced that helping refugees to find employment benefits Denmark, our companies and the individual refugees – since putting refugees to work reduces public spending, contributes to growth and prosperity in Danish companies and significantly increases quality of life among the newcomers. Therefore, building on our previous engagements, QVARTZ helps to organise Jobzonen (the Job Zone) in Forum on Saturday. Here, Big people from Big Companies such as Microsoft, NCC, Egmont, Falck and others will “go high” and meet with refugees to discuss qualifications, motivation and employment possibilities. The Welcome Party also features music from famous musicians, inspirational speeches, stories from refugees and awards for the best solutions – only to name a few ingredients. If you are in Copenhagen on Saturday, we hope to see you there.
