When the public sector goes digital

Denmark has already taken a big leap towards digitisation of the public sector and is a frontrunner compared to other European countries. To maintain this position, public organisations need to ensure that digitalisation is high on the management agenda and an integrated part of both their core business and company culture. That is one of the recommendations in QVARTZ and Microsoft’s recent white paper about digital transformation in the Danish public sector, which looks into the digital maturity of 20 public organisations. Three out of the 20 organisations are digital accelerators, meaning that they have an ambitious business strategy with digitalisation as the main driver. The remaining 17 organisations are still in the initial phase on the digital maturity curve.
